1-1 Reading (Elementary)

One-on-one personalized instruction based on student needs.  This class is designed to support and enhance student reading skills. We will work on filling gaps, learning new skills, all while creating a positive, supportive connection that helps build their confidence along the way.

The instruction will adapt as we go, ensuring it fits your student's unique needs. Typically, sessions will focus on:
Phonics: Learning letter sounds (using resources like Words Their Way and Reading A-Z)
Decoding: Applying letter sounds to read new words
Vocabulary: Expanding their word knowledge and understanding of meanings
Comprehension: Improving the ability to understand and recall what’s read (using Reading A-Z resources)

Our lessons will be interactive and collaborative, with plenty of back-and-forth discussion to ensure active engagement. Students will work alongside me to achieve their learning goals and gain a deeper understanding of their progress. Occasionally, I’ll share a Google Doc for interactive activities that allow for greater student involvement.
