Could your child use some additional assistance when it comes to the reading section of their standardized test? In this course, I will use reading materials that pose similar question formatting that is used on state tests. Students will have an opportunity to learn/review basic reading skills and strategies. I will teach/review 1 - 2 reading skills during class sessions via a Power Point Presentation. Next, students will close read workbook passage(s), and respond to level-appropriate corresponding questions. Test questions are test-prep designed and should greatly help with yearly state testing. Course content will be delivered for 30-minutes for consistency and continuity. I highly suggest enrollment for homeschooling or as an after school option for learning. Please refer to the Materials section for the suggested workbook link. ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` SOME READING SKILLS & READING STRATEGIES ADDRESSED: `Main Idea Close Read `Details Visualization `Predicting Read Questions First `Author's Purpose Process of Elimination `Cause & Effect Compare & Contrast `Context Clues Fact & Opinion `Inference Drawing Conclusions `Theme Moral `````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` COURSE AGENDA - start date: May 2025 duration time: (3 weeks only) ``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` This course will only provide instruction and offer the following skills: Main Idea, Details, Context Clues, Predicting, Cause & Effect, fill in the blanks with details
