Hello I made my dragon by hand. I used my imagination to design Fluffy and it is a dragon puppet. I spent 3 hours on her and I am really proud of it. What makes it special is that I made it with my imagination. I was inspired by foxes and they're big ears. I control it with a base. I used paper, glue, tape, markers, and hot glue. Fluffy is a really nice bubbly and comforting dragon. ❤️❤️❤️

My name is Aslan. I am 8 years old and I do an art class. This is one of my favorite projects from class and I wanted to put it in the contest. I used watercolor, oil pastels, and a picture of myself to create this piece. I feel happy when I look at this art and I hope you will, too!

Hi! I made a silly, sweet dog who rules his cozy home like a king. I love animals, so I gave him big eyes and floppy ears and built him a happy little world with books, plants, and a comfy bed. It makes me feel warm, playful, and proud—like I’m right there hanging out with him!

I take drawing classes on Outschool and I like to draw every day. I really like drawing characters and working on shading. In this drawing, I tried to make the face expressive and added details like the eyes, hair, and hand. I was inspired by characters I like and added my own details. It feels calm and a little mysterious, like she is thinking something but not saying it.

Hello, my name is Sophie, and this is my art piece for the Outschool art contest! Something that inspires me, is other artists, like my Mom, artist that have entered into the contest (all of the art on here is AMAZING) and just artists everywhere! I think it’s really cool to see how people draw and how their art style is different then others.

In my drawing there is a young girl finding her peace through meditation, by sitting in a serene environment surrounded by nature. This inspires me because whenever I meditate, I feel eternal peace washing over me, and I feel like I can forgive any unkind action that anyone has ever done to me. I think the art of meditation is a beautiful thing that inspires me deeply. The first time I meditated I felt changed completely, and for the better. This drawing resembles how I feel when meditating.

Hi, I’m Zayden! Digital art inspires me because it helps me connect with people in ways words can’t. I used existing video clips to create something new through my own editing and digital art. I like turning moments into feelings people can experience. Creating this helped me see what’s possible when I use my creativity. I made it myself without AI.

I get really sleepy in math class. To keep myself awake, I often doodle. I started to draw snakes because it just felt natural. After school, I look up some snake pictures - and then, I start drawing. Drawing these snakes is a lot harder than it looks! And then - BOOM! - I drew this snake.

Hi my is Winter. I wanted to draw this because I really love wolves. I love all types of canines but the wolf is my favorite wild animal. I like how wolves have one leader of the group which is the Alpha. They are the protectors of the pack and help guide them to keep them safe. Painting this makes me feel like I want to paint some more. I love looking at this painting and staring into the wolves eyes. This painting is now hanging in my art room so it can be seen everyday.

My name is Alex and I love drawing, working with clay and leatherwork. The reason why I drew this piece is because I wanted to challenge myself by drawing the ocean and a submarine. I have been doing this art class on Outschool for a year, and it's helped me with depth, white and black coloring and letting me create my artistic ideas. This piece makes me feel proud of my work and my progress.

I named my drawing, "My Wise Friend," because owls remind me of wisdom and quiet strength. As the oldest child in my family, I help take care of my younger siblings and try to be a good example of responsibility, like the owl. My faith in the Lord inspires me the most, because He helps guide me to be loving, strong, and wise like the owl. This art makes me feel calm and thoughtful, and it reminds me that even quiet people can be strong leaders who help others.

I really like sea turtles, beaches, and sunsets. The beach reminded me of some of my best memories. My memories inspired me to paint this, combined with some of the things I like. It makes me feel like I went back into my memories, I wish I can find sea turtles soon. It reminds me of the time when I went to the beach in Korea and me and my sister found some really good shells! I used paint because I feel like you can make more with it and if you mess up, you can turn mistakes into masterpieces!

As a 15-year-old homeschooler drawn to watercolor, I enjoy transforming ordinary subjects into expressive works of art. This mixed-media rendition of an old streetlight reflects my fascination with light, mood, and the quiet beauty found in everyday scenes.

Throughout the process of creating this piece, I always envisioned this flower as a symbol of my island’s beautiful landscape and scenery. The vivid colors of “El Ave del Paraíso al Mediodía” reflect Puerto Rico’s rich history of resilience and zest for life. Its abundance across the island reminds me of my ancestors and all they had to endure.

My name is Bella. And what inspired my art is a painting I did when I took a break from my drawing. I blended a bunch of colors together and that was my idea for the background . Then I painted a HUMMING BIRD because they are my second favorite birds . My art makes me feel calm because the flowers and the backGround colors are beautiful to me. I hope you judges like it too!

Smile on the Inside is a piece of artwork that tells you no matter how sad things could be, you should smile because we’re always somehow smiling. I created Smile on the Inside because I love to draw, sketch more specifically, skeletons. I just learned how to draw a human so I decided to put the two together. I then realized the true meaning behind my piece of art. Stay positive no matter how bad things can get, smile through it and look on the bright side.

Hi, my name is Audrey. I made this drawing of a mother and daughter growing up. It shows them at different stages of life, standing together. I was inspired by this because even though they are both growing and changing, one thing stays the same: they are always together. In my Outschool art classes, I’ve been learning how to make realistic drawings but usually my art style is a bit more cartoon-like. I tried to mix both of my styles in this drawing. I used colored pencils and pen.

My name is Wylder. I want to be a marine biologist and an artist when I grow up, so I like to make artwork of the ocean. I believe that we need to raise awareness about the ocean and its threats and art can do that. In Ocean Sunset I wanted to capture the vivid colors of a sunset and provoke feelings of harmony with nature.

I enjoy exploring the outdoors, climbing trees, writing stories and drawing mystical pictures. I got my inspiration from a chapter in one of my stories I have written. Where the mother dragon leaves her babies in the protection of the tree of life. When she needs to go defend her territory. When I look at my picture I am proud of myself for bring my imagination to life and being able to hold it in my hands.

My name is Connor. I really like the night sky, because it's really pretty and there's a lot of possibility. I chose to paint this, because it makes me think of the night sky, even when I'm not outside. It makes me feel happy, but sometimes when I look at it I feel like I'm not very good at painting. Even though I sometimes feel like it's not good enough, I'm still glad I painted it.

My name is Isla and i have been drawing for three years. This piece of art was inspired by my trip to Galapagos where I saw lots and lots of sea lions. I even swam with them in the ocean!!!. I am really happy how it turned out. The thing I like most about the drawing is the eyes!!!!!

My name is Jane, I’ve been drawing my whole life and is my favorite thing to do. I created this drawing because I was hungry for chocolate pudding. I thought it would be fun to draw a cat made of pudding. The drawing makes me feel proud of myself because it was one of my favorite drawings I’ve done.

I love drawing animals, especially animals in the wild. I drew a lion cub who is curious and loves learning and exploring, just like me. When I was drawing, I tried to show its soft fur and curious face. It makes me feel happy to imagine it going on adventures and discovering new things. I hope people see how playful and brave the cub is.

I was inspired to draw this piece because I love the stars and I have always wanted to go on a camping trip. I think the stars are like little tiny campfires because they're always sparkly and they always sparkle up the night... even when the moon isn't out! I like art, when you feel confident in yourself, your art lights up your heart. When you listen to yourself, your art shines like the stars no matter who you are- you are unique, and have a gift. I hope you liked this message.:)

My name is Ariella and I enjoy drawing both digitally and traditionally. Anime has been a big part of my inspiration and has really reflected in my style (as you can see). The name for this piece comes from the sword Zoro is holding; The Wado Ichimonji. The sword name literally means "straight line through the path of harmony" and holds a great significance in Zoros life. I was inspired to make this piece because I just started watching the One Piece live action series and its totally awesome!

Hello, I'm Grace! This piece is inspired by (and is of) Splatoon, a game by Nintendo. The character pictured has fought their way up through an underground base, seeing the outside world for the first time after losing their memory from being in said base. It is inspiring to me since after all their hard work, they got the thing they wanted most: reaching the surface.

I’m an artist and percussionist. The leaf in the picture is a real leaf that exists. I got the leaf on a visit in Opelousas, LA to see a professional artist that has artwork in museums. Her name is Mare Martin and she is also a gardener. The leaf came from her garden and I painted a still life of it. I creatively added the background from my imagination. When I painted it, I was excited thinking about the colors and how to make it cool. I had fun with it.

Music has something to offer nearly everyone! If you like writing, you can write music. If you like an instrument, you can play it. If you like singing, you can sing. If you like art, you can make album covers. If you like organizing, you can be a manager. There’s so much opportunity! Throughout history, people have used music to spread messages of inspiration, and I hope that this piece inspires you! Music has inspired me so much as an avid singer, and I just love listening to it so much!

I'm Zuwena, and I really like old cartoons. I made this piece inspired by one of my favorites, Mysterious Mose, because it got into the public domain recently. Also I just wanted to depict how loving and being loved in return chases away all negative and mean things people might say about you.

I am a natural Artist. Art flows through my hands. My art is gold. I have a natural talent in painting since a young child. I also create digital art drawing from cartoons I enjoy, i.e. Sprinkles, Rainbow Friends, Smiling Critters, Minecraft and more. My favorite art form is Angelic Art. I paint in all mediums: acrylic, metallic acrylic, oil, fluid art, Impasto (Italian Art), Suminagashi (Japanese Art), tempera, sensorial art, watercolor, glow in the dark artwork, airbrush painting and beyond!

I love to tell stories. I wanted to tell a story of my own in my picture and so I did. My picture is a story about a little mermaid, unicorn, and flying cat. They all are different and all have their own story but all of their stories are a story of my own.
My piece is a hand-illustrated Macbeth spellbook inspired by Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Created on Procreate and developed into an animation, it reimagines the play from the perspective of the Weird Sisters. I began using Procreate during COVID-19, shaping my digital style and technique. Each page reflects Macbeth’s shift from honor to moral decline, using symbolism such as blood and animal imagery to show his loss of humanity and the lasting consequences of ambition.

I get a lot of inspiration from books and nature, so I featured a girl reading in a beautiful landscape. Create, dream, believe has really helped me go above and beyond in things I love. It really makes me feel proud because I know I worked hard to create it, and that I can create something I love like this. If I ever find myself about to give up, all I'll have to say is create, dream, believe.

I love drawing and anything fashion related. I spend most of my free time drawing, reading, and looking through my old sketchbooks. In one of my sketchbooks I found a really pretty purple and blue dress, and decided to recreate it for the showcase. I hope the judges like it as much as I do!

I love to role play. So I'm very excited to get to enter in a drawing of one of my favorite characters. Gene Doe is one of my favorite original characters. He is 5'9, has dyed purple hair (though it is now literally unable to change due to a magical incident), and always has his guard up. This drawing portrays him in a moment of awareness and vulnerability. It's nice to see him get to be embarrassed.

I work with a variety of artistic mediums to express different ideas and emotions. This particular piece was inspired by my empathetic nature and a question that has often crossed my mind: do angels ever feel overwhelmed or overworked, constantly being called upon when they are needed most?

Hi! I like drawing and painting, especially blending lots of colors and experimenting with paint. I was inspired to make this piece by using my imagination to think about a landscape I'd like to explore. I wanted to create something that felt interesting and a little bit magical. Making the circles makes me feel calm, and I like how the colors and shapes came together.

I like drawing on digital, but i mostly draw on paper. I like drawing my own characters and drawing other characters too. This drawing is inspired by some of my favorite characters like Pokémon and peanuts! This makes me feel happy and proud because I drew it myself and it is very colorful and exciting.

My artwork is inspired by the koi fish, which represents strength and motivation. It reminds me to keep going even when life is hard. The calm movement of the fish brings peace and shows me to trust the journey. With faith, I believe God is guiding me. This piece reflects staying strong, growing through challenges, and moving forward with courage.
Me and my Mom are traveling around the world for a year and I love to sing. We got to see a lot of cool things and I thought it was amazing to see all the different animals. I took a busking class and learned how to write my own song about what it’s like to go on adventures. I drew the art and wrote the music too!

My name is Kai, and I’m 9 years old. I loooove drawing. I have been drawing for a looooooooong time. And I drew this because the FIFA World Cup is coming soon, and I like playing soccer with my friends. I tried to make this art piece of 4 people playing soccer at school, not at a stadium. This piece makes me feel excited and want to play soccer and can’t wait to. My favorite soccer team is the Whitecaps.

I think the biggest challenge I faced was that it was my first art class ever, and we had to squeeze a bunch of lessons in a couple weeks. The butterfly I drew inspired me because it makes you think about the beauty of nature and all the things that God created. They remind us to care for the little things, and be content with what you have. The butterfly is also pretty to look at. :D you wouldn’t mind voting, would you now >:)

My name is Maya I love dogs so much. I have two dogs Bella and Spikie. I am Polish. I've been in a dog drawing class for about 2 years . I drew this dog realistic because I really like the realistic style. I like realistic style because its really hard to draw straight lines and do the shading in the correct places. The realistic drawings turn out to be very impressive. It makes me feel proud and curious.

This is a character from Forsaken, a roblox game, and he is my favorite character. I drew him because he has a very easy and simple design! What inspired me was my brother, because he really likes that game and made a drawing of all the characters for our art class, so I thought I'd make one as well of just one character.

Hello! My name is Adalynn! This piece is inspired by my love for animals. While drawing it, I initially struggled because my cat's ears were too tall and skinny. I had mistakenly drawn over the ears with colored pencil, which made it impossible to erase. I overcame this problem by using a sand eraser, which was the perfect tool for the job. It was a risk to attempt a realistic drawing, but I'm very happy with the result. Thank you so much for your time, and I hope you enjoy my artwork!

This is what happened when I found a passion for Amigurumi! I started crocheting six months ago after my friends on Outschool introduced it to me! I just love making my stuffies and giving them to people! This craft has really made me happy and I love it.

Artwork should connect to the theme, ‘Something That Inspires Me,’ and must be original and created by the learner. If your learner uses any material they did not create themselves, it must be clearly changed into something new and original, not just copied or lightly edited. AI tools may not be used to create any part of the artwork. Learn more about our submission guidelines here.
Our team reviews your learner’s artwork to make sure it meets the showcase rules and submission guidelines. This could take up to a week. You’ll get an email once it’s in the Showcase. Submissions can’t be edited once they’ve been sent, so be sure to review your upload and entry form carefully before submitting. Each learner can have only one entry in the Showcase, and judges will review only one submission per participant.
Outschool’s teacher judges review entries for creativity and originality. Learners submit their work in one of two categories: Physical Art (e.g., drawing or painting) or Digital Art (e.g., animation or digital illustration). One finalist is chosen in each age group for each category. Showcase Favorite voting happens on the Showcase page and is open to those aged 18 or older.
