When your kid makes a piece of art, they’re also building confidence, processing feelings, and creating connections. That’s what we’re celebrating with the Outschool Visual Arts Showcase—and your kid could win up to $1,000 USD* in prize value, a one-year Outschool Membership and a billboard in Times Square!

Hi, My name is Francene and I’m an eleven year old girl. I love to animate and draw. I do both physical and digital art but I decided to make a digital animation. This piece was inspired by a book series called Warriors. I am proud bringing the book series to life.

I love drawing and 3D art because I like creating things with my hands and imagination. This piece is a macaw that I made after learning about birds. I was inspired by how colorful and beautiful they are. I used oil pastels and watercolor to make different textures and bright colors especially on the feathers and the background. This artwork makes me feel like anything is possible. A macaw can fly wherever it wants and I think our imagination can fly too, just like a macaw.

I am homeschooler who loves art and dogs. I started drawing with how to draw books, then added some Outschool art classes to refine my skills. I love drawing pictures of animals but my current focus is dogs. My favorite parts to focus on are the eyes and the snouts. If I can get the eyes right, it gives the portrait the complete personality and really brings life to the dogs on paper.

I really enjoy art and think it is very fun and intresting. I enjoyed painting this piece because it reflects a city at dusk. It makes me want to go outside and look at nature. It also gives me the feeling of riding in a car and looking out the window, seeing in the city.

My name is Isla, and I love nature and art. My grandma loves bees, so I combined what she loves with what I love to make her a picture. I've been taking watercolor classes for nearly four years. I want to show my grandma how much I REALLY appreciate her by getting the picture I made for her on a billboard in Times Square.

My name is Alex and I love drawing, working with clay and leatherwork. The reason why I drew this piece is because I wanted to challenge myself by drawing the ocean and a submarine. I have been doing this art class on Outschool for a year, and it's helped me with depth, white and black coloring and letting me create my artistic ideas. This piece makes me feel proud of my work and my progress.

I found two trees at a place, one was in full bloom and it looked really pretty while, the other was completely dead looking. I was then inspired to draw two trees with one that is full of life, and the other dark. I thought the light bulbs in the back looked pretty, because the place I was at, had a string of light bulbs behind the trees.

My name is Irene. This drawing was inspired by a photo that was taken of me and my sister when we were little. In this drawing is me and my twin sister playing in the waves. In front are the trunks that we used that we had played with. I chose this drawing because I always admired the ocean’s beauty and calmness. The ocean, when I’m near it, makes me very small and tiny. Whenever I am around the ocean, I feel the waves coming to me and hear nothing but the soft crashing.

I get a lot of inspiration from books and nature, so I featured a girl reading in a beautiful landscape. Create, dream, believe has really helped me go above and beyond in things I love. It really makes me feel proud because I know I worked hard to create it, and that I can create something I love like this. If I ever find myself about to give up, all I'll have to say is create, dream, believe.

Totally Awesome Outdoor Show, is a YouTube channel about bushcraft, survival and living in the woods, and it really inspires me! My name is Matthew and in this drawing I wanted to show camping on the edge of the woodland. I really feel the warmth of the fire and I'm so happy about it.

Hi! I like drawing and painting, especially blending lots of colors and experimenting with paint. I was inspired to make this piece by using my imagination to think about a landscape I'd like to explore. I wanted to create something that felt interesting and a little bit magical. Making the circles makes me feel calm, and I like how the colors and shapes came together.

My name is Kinley and I am 14 years old. I have always loved drawing but especially now because I have been taking out school classes with professor Sanya for the last year and I have improved SO much. I love her drawing classes and look forward to them every week. This piece made me feel really happy because it reminds me of the beauty of nature.

My name is Caroline. My artwork is inspired by NASA’s female astronauts who have helped expand human exploration of space. Their courage inspire me to dream about the future, to become an astronaut and explore outer space, to help humanity better understand the universe. The red and white koi (fish flowing around the astronaut’s helmet ) are known for swimming upstream, representing humanity’s determination to overcome challenges and push beyond limits even when faced with uncertainty.

My name is Harriet! My work is inspired by the Warrior Cats book series. I have met many people because of this series who are also inspired to draw because of it. "Sharing Dreams" shows my original character Skyleaf and the series' most popular cat, Firestar. They are doing the cats' custom of "sharing dreams" with StarClan, the spirits of their ancestors. It shows Firestar as a ghost, representing how even though warrior cats was released years ago, they still inspire fans worldwide.

My artwork is called “Out in the Danger.” It shows a girl and her dragon standing in front of a volcano that is erupting. They are best friends and they are being brave together even though it’s scary. I love drawing chibi girls and dragons because dragons are my favorite. I think dragons are strong and magical, and I like imagining them as loyal friends. This drawing makes me feel strong and brave. It reminds me that I can face my fears every day and not feel alone.

There wasn’t really a clear inspiration for this piece, but I’ll try to give a bit of a walk-through. The character is inspired by WOF -Wings Of Fire, which is a dragon book series and my artist persona. I have always had a love for willow and wisteria trees, and love artworks that showcase things like rivers, oceans and waterfalls. The title is partly inspired by the book The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe. This piece makes me feel at peace with the whole… flowy and mystical feel! :3

Hi! My name is Rebekah, and this is my art piece entitled "hope." In this drawing, I depict myself as a skeleton, which represents vulnerability and the beauty of originality. The bones are chipped and broken from trauma, betrayal, and hurt. However, despite all the pain from life circumstances and mentality, there is new growth. Flowers bloom from the vines crawling up the body, showing that hope can still be found in the darkest places of life, and there is always something more to live for.

Hello, my name is Aiden. My inspiration is about positivity overcoming negativity. My story lead to tough times in my life, and leading to negativity consuming me. I was drowning in it. I needed help, and I did get help. I was able to be free from the chains that held me tight. It may leave you with a scar, but what shapes you into what you are now, and I have some. I thank God for being there for me, and everyone else. Hear my message: positivity will defeat negativity, let it shine in you.

I really like sea turtles, beaches, and sunsets. The beach reminded me of some of my best memories. My memories inspired me to paint this, combined with some of the things I like. It makes me feel like I went back into my memories, I wish I can find sea turtles soon. It reminds me of the time when I went to the beach in Korea and me and my sister found some really good shells! I used paint because I feel like you can make more with it and if you mess up, you can turn mistakes into masterpieces!

Im Lacey, military child following her dad. Just pulled from the sunshine of Florida to the winter of the Midwest. My piece is inspired by the warm sun that my skin misses so deeply. It makes me feel that Gods masterpiece is worth sharing. We are created to create.

I love to do art and I love playing outside, especially around flowers. What inspired this piece is how butterflies’ wings shimmer in the sunlight, which is why I wanted to create this. It makes me feel really excited, and when I’m feeling down, it helps me feel happy. The purple flowers have bowtie leaves because I was feeling silly, fun, and happy when I made it.

I’m a weaver and garment maker who pushes each project to teach me something new. I wove the striped, polka dot, and solid fabrics on an 8-shaft loom using the yarn shown, then constructed these boots from scratch on a last. This was my first time making boots. The project involved shaping with heat and stiffeners, setting grommets, securing heels, and adding leather trim. I love polka dots for both their look and structural challenge. This piece reflects my process: learning by doing.

Hi! I'm Samantha and I have been doing art as long as I can remember, and I have always loved it! My piece is a surprising friendship between a yellow Labrador and a Mallard duck along a pond with a beautiful mountain setting. I love this piece because it reminds me of my favorite animals along with my favorite setting, mountains. My love of the outdoors and animals is also what inspired this piece.

My name is Mercy and I'm 15 years old. Music has always greatly inspired me and I wanted to make a piece that represents that. I have a dream to visit California someday and make my own music, a dream that was in part inspired by one of my favorite bands, Incubus.
This piece was inspired by me wanting to make my very first animation from start to finish. I learned how to use Procreate Dreams in my OutSchool class. And I came up with a simple story, made a storyboard, and then turned it into an animation which was very exciting. I also added sounds to make it more immersive. This project helped me learn a lot, and it shows my first step into animation.

I love all the colors of the rainbow and take every opportunity to use lots of them. Originally, I wanted to create a different picture using acrylic on canvas, but it did not turn out the way I dreamed of. After a bit of trial and error, patience, and determination, I created A Fish Out of Water with liquid paint, straws and brushes. Creating this picture taught me not to give up on an idea and not to be afraid of adjusting my plans. This painting makes me feel happy and proud.

I am an avid writer and artist with a passion specifically for animals. This piece was inspired by a book I want to write following the first two leaders of a wolf pack called the Rose Kingdom. Over the course of this drawing I grew even more attached to these two characters and even spent hours meticulously fussing over details just so I could do them justice. Now that the piece is finished, I look at it as one of the best pieces I've ever created and the characters as some of my favorites.

I am passionate about art and attended many art lessons on Outschool. All these wonderful art teachers helped me to become more confident and to enjoy creating more than ever! - Our family got the long awaited Golden Retriever Rosetta. I was so happy to draw her, am really proud of my drawing. Without all the Outschool lessons I wouldn't have been able to draw her like that! - Outstanding Miss Shannon from "Ready Set Fitness" told me about this Showcase as I had told her how much I enjoy art.

Hi, my name is Hana! I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but I picked it up even more as of last year. I made this artwork for my sibling's birthday to depict our view during the concert of K-pop group Seventeen. We had such an amazing time so I tried my best to capture the magic and thrill of the moment! I am really proud of the color and detail in this piece. Looking at it brings me back to the awesome time I shared with my sibling :)

this art work makes me feel sad for the bird🐦⬛ on the left, let me explain. the bird on the left is using a jet pack, not its wings it is sad because now it has no perpous for its wings. while the bird on the right is using its wings soring freely and not a jet pack. the bird on left is using a jet pack because engineers went to far and now it can't fly without a jet pack the end.

My name is Agastya. I love painting, especially scenes from nature and the universe. Painting gives me peace and happiness. When I see the beauty of the world, it inspires me to explore more and imagine what lies beyond our boundaries. It also reminds me how important it is to take care of our Mother Earth and keep it beautiful by cleaning and recycling. Since life exists only on this planet, we all have a responsibility to protect it.

I love to make my characters bright and colorful. Cinnamoroll is one of my favorite characters ever. When we drew this piece in class, I thought that I should combine the two things I love which is color and cinnamoroll which made this art piece one of my favorites! I love anime so I like to make up my own character with their own unique outfit and hairstyle, their emotion and just making it super unique with my sense. I love to draw so I hope I win this art competition!!

I am Lydia and this is my 5th year of doing art. I was inspired to create this piece by my pet cats who I love very much. The only trouble was that I also love dragons! The end result was a dritten. This little guy stares at the ocean ready to fly fearless as the lightning crashes and the waves roll over the rock he is standing on. I really enjoyed creating this piece, and I hope you enjoy seeing it.

As a stargazer, seeing a night sky filled with different kinds of wonders always amazes me. This inspired me to combine many different night-sky objects together. It makes me feel peaceful and fulfilled. I think anyone who sees this in real life will be breathtaken and amazed to the eye!

What inspired me is the big tree outside my window. I look out at it on breezy nights and at dawn, and it makes me feel cozy. I love cats, so I added a big cat that the elf at the top of the tree (who is drinking the cup of tea and eating a leftover piece of chocolate cake) rides. I added fireflies because I love when there are nice warm nights and I can catch fireflies.

I got into art a few years ago. I tried out different styles, and I found I enjoyed fantasy drawings. My inspiration for this drawing was to make people feel as if they were in a fantasy world. The dragon I drew, the colors I used, and my background all conveyed a world of myths. It made me feel imaginative, creative, and proud of my work. I hope to create more pieces like this.

Hi. My name is Alexis and I love riding horses. I've been taking lessons since I was 9 years old and I ride all year round. I participate in horse shows and competitions. Horses are so majestic and beautiful. I feel free when I am riding them. I also love brushing them. I especially love all of their unique personalities. This is a picture of one of the horses I enjoy riding and his name is River.

I am artist, a writer, a singer, and much more. I enjoy being outside and around animals, and the place you will find me is in my room, in my bed snuggling and reading with my cats, or at my desk writing and creating worlds, in art or writing. I enjoys singing, and can be found singing my favorite songs. My dreams inspired me to create this art piece. I used bright colors and symbols to represent my bright spirit, and put a hot air balloon to represent her soaring creativity.

Hi, my name is Malcolm and I am taking a few of the Outschool drawing classes. This art piece was inspired by a horror game called Poppy Playtime, where all the toys in a toy factory come to life to take revenge on their creators. I enjoy the game very much because it’s not too scary and I find the characters really fun to draw. I really enjoyed making this piece and I hope you enjoy it too.

Hi! My name is FionaI love to paint and i love the pretty sparkly galaxies and i love the night skies sparkly stars so i thought why not paint a galaxy painting so i did and this painting i got tons of inspiration to make it and it is so sparkly! And i got so many compliments!

Throughout the process of creating this piece, I always envisioned this flower as a symbol of my island’s beautiful landscape and scenery. The vivid colors of “El Ave del Paraíso al Mediodía” reflect Puerto Rico’s rich history of resilience and zest for life. Its abundance across the island reminds me of my ancestors and all they had to endure.

2026 is the Year of the Horse in the Chinese lunar calendar. Both my grandpas, from my dad’s side and my mom’s side, were born in the Year of the Horse. I like horses because they are cool and strong. I drew a horse’s head for the Year of the Horse and used my imagination to make it special. I felt very happy while making this artwork. I hope people smile when they see my horse.
