團體經歷
A group to discuss Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, Physical Geography and Space Science. I will share Earth Science new stories and start discussions on different topics within Earth Science. We will also discuss Earth Science related Youtube videos by other respectabel educators. I will monitor conversations and give my input if needed once a week. I will start new topics once a month and update Earth Science news when ever it occurs - or in a monthly update.

- This group is a great opportunity for Earth Science fans to extend their knowledge, connect with other Earth Science geeks and keep up to date with what is happening in this amazing world we call Earth.
I have a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Geophysics and a PhD in Philosophy. I have chosen the most interesting and exciting subjects to teach to get young minds fascinated by Earth Sciences.
Welcome to our Group! We want all of our learners to feel comfortable, connected, and safe. That's why we have 3 rules we ask you to follow: Be Kind, Be Safe, and Be Respectful. Be Kind - Help all learners feel welcome and included. Learners from all over the world, with different backgrounds, races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, religions and body types, participate in our Group. Always be nice and make others, especially new learners, know that they belong and are welcome. Teasing, name calling, or bullying anybody in our community? Nope. Not happening here Be Safe - Keep your personal information private and never ask other learners for theirs. Personal things are personal. We want to keep you safe on Outschool, but we also want YOU to understand how to be safe when you're meeting other learners or teachers. Keep your full name, home address, gaming or social media name, email, and school name private. Be Respectful - Treat others how you want to be treated. Keep language clean and information you share safe. If you wouldn't say it or share with your grandma, don't do it here. Swear words, racy videos, and violent images are not allowed. Treat Outschool like a public place, and when in doubt, keep things covered.
Some Earth Science topics cover Global Warming and Climate Change causing more frequent natural disasters. It also talks about mass extinctions including the possibility of humans causing one now (including ourselves) and has some drawn images of animals dying to become fossils. I try to steern this into a upbeat manner with positive solutions (eg: switching to renewable energy), but the more sensative students may find these topics distressing.
What can learners do in this chat group?

Why is North Western Europe warmer than it should be?
Exciting Earth Science is a community of learners that come together on Outschool to share what they’re learning, ask questions, participate in challenges, and get feedback on their projects
Is it becuase the Gulf Stream brings warm water from the Gulf of Mexico across the Atlantic to North West Europe, which elevates the temperature?
I hear that the Gulf Stream might be slowing down. Is this true? What will happen if it stops?
I watched this video by BeSmart (PBS) that explains it really well. Check it out! - Click to play YouTube video
