This is class is for student who already have an understanding of the Stock Market OR who have taken my Financial Literacy for Kids class.

Through simulation, open discussion and visuals, students will deepen their understanding of investing by trading stocks online in class and on their own.  In addition to covering the below outlined topics, we will start class with an open discussion about what has been happening in the stock market.

Session 1: Getting Started & Trade Stocks
Establish online accounts and get familiar with HowTheMarketWorks.com

Session 2: Diversify Our Portfolio
Discuss the need to diversify our investing portfolios through the use of Index Funds, ETFs, Mutual Funds or Bonds

Session 3: Buying Commodities
We will learn how things like corn and oil can be traded as investments

Session 4: Cryptocurrency
Learn the history of cryptocurrency and how it differs from the currency you use to buy good & services today

Session 5: Stock Market Crashes in U.S. History
We will take a look at a few stock market crashes in history and highlight why long term investing in crucial to building wealth

Student will leave class with more investing knowledge that they can continue to build on.
