In this class your learner will learn what makes up a paragraph and the easy way how to write one.  The history of the modern paragraph is quite interesting!  Why do we write the paragraph the way we do?  Find out the answer in this class. We will use an easy system of green (write the topic sentence), yellow (write the supporting or detail sentences), and red (write the ending or concluding sentence).  We will also talk about the level of sentence detail.  There is a controlling sentence (green), clarifying sentences (yellow), and a completing sentence (red).  Adjectives will be added so that the paragraph will be interesting and different ways to start sentences will be touched upon.  Your child will have an opportunity to write a paragraph, improve it, and share it if they wish.  Prior knowledge:  Your child must know how to write a complete sentence.  It is helpful if your student has some basic spelling skills.  This is also an excellent class for an older child who is a struggling writer.  This class is of the most benefit if you child is willing to be interaction when we do the practice.  I teach in a relaxed manner.  Class Rules:  We mute so we do not talk over one another, we are kind and respectful to everyone, and if we have a question or comment, we raise our hand, and per Outschool rules we turn on our camera to verify ourselves as a student.  I would prefer that the camera stays on during class, but it may be turned off once I verify.
