Enter the world of beautiful and magical fairies and mermaids in this imaginative Waldorf reading class.  The stories are picture books that we will see and read together on the screen share.  After we read, we will have a movement time with yoga poses that allow us to become fairies and mermaids.  Finally, we will have a drawing time for children to process the story artistically.  Drawings are all student-led and we will have a sharing time for students to share their expressions if they choose to.  This is a perfect class for a kindy or first-grade student and even a dreamy second-grade student who loves fairies and mermaids!  

Week One

~Read "The Tiptoe Guide to Tracking Mermaids" by Ammi-Joan Paquette together
~Mermaid Yoga
~Mermaid drawing time 
~Sharing

Week Two
~Read "The Mermaid and the Shoe" by K.G. Campbell
~Shoe show-and-tell (bring a favorite shoe to this class to share with the class)
~Mermaid Yoga
~Story drawing time
~Sharing

Week Three
~Read "The Fairies Gift" by Tanya Robin Batt
~Fairy Yoga
~Fairy drawing time
~Sharing 

Week Four
~Read "The Woman who Flummoxed the Fairies" by Heather Forest (this is a longer story so you may want to have some beeswax for your child to mold while listening)
