The age range is only a guide. This class is appropriate for anyone that is currently learning on a 2nd grade level. *** You do NOT have to complete any other classes to take this class. This class will NOT cancel for low enrollment.*** Each class we will read a new book. The books will be guided reading leveled readers from levels J, K, L, or M (see monthly schedule below). We will also, reread text for fluency, learn and review sight words, discuss comprehension questions, complete...
Students will improve reading skills, more complex phonics (multisyllabic words, complex vowel patterns, etc.) , sight words, fluency, and comprehension.
I love reading and I am so happy to help young readers love it too! I have a Masters in Reading Education and many years experience as a Reading Specialist in public schools and as a private tutor.
Materials: Paper and pencil is sufficient, but learners may enjoy a dry erase marker and board (try the dollar store). Plus, markers are easier for me to see when learners hold up their work. Printer and ability to print PDF files
