In this course you will learn about little know African Americans who have impacted our lives today. They will be inventors, entertainers and much more. I will cover their life's facts, show pictures and short video clips of them and or their inventions. Sources will come from: The African American Holiday of Kwanzaa by Maulana Karenga, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, and Whoosh! Lonnie Johnson's Super Soaking Stream by Chris Barton. I will also use media from:...

My relevant experience for teaching this topic are that I have taken 3 courses from Grand Valley State university as well as am a part of the culture upon which I am teaching. I am an African American female that has been trained and taught post secondary to teach as well as experience what I am teaching. I have studied this topic for over 25 years.
Paper of your choice and a writing utensil and colored pencils/markers.
