During this 3-day Study Skills Bootcamp learners will get a crash course on how to prepare for academic success by honing their basic study skills.  The class will include how to implement a planner or calendar into your daily routine, how to estimate the amount of time necessary to complete assignments and test preparation, scheduling smaller tasks for large projects or assignments, several different note taking methods, the usage of flash cards/note cards, mnemonic devices and study guides.  Effective learning takes place when the teacher is able to see and interact with learners, therefore it is expected that learners will use their cameras and engage in class. If this is not possible, please let the teacher know before the first class. 

Day 1 - Getting it Together - Take Control of Your Time Management Skills
Day 2 - Note Taking 101 - The Basics of Cornell Notes, T-Charts, SQ3R and Mind Mapping
Day 3 - Plan for Success - How to create your own study resources and effectively prepare for tests/exams by creating a system for success. 

By the end of this 3 day bootcamp students will have the fundamentals of a system to tackle their academic goals!

Outschool has changed its policy regarding class cancellations. We know how disappointing canceled classes can be for learners, so we too are amending our policy.  In the past we have waited for late enrollees, of which we have had MANY!  Unfortunately we can no longer do that. 

Instead we will evaluate class enrollment for ongoing classes on teach Sunday at 5pm Eastern.  IF enrollment falls below 4 students, we may push the class back a week, combine the section with another one, or cancel the section and provide full refunds to those unable to transfer to another section.  
When other sections are available students will have the option to transfer to another class.  Full refunds will be provided for learners who cannot attend the newly scheduled class time. Partial refunds for missed classes are NOT available. If a student must miss class, the recording is available to view at their convenience. All other refunds will be provided as per the Outschool Limited Refund policy (see below).  If for any reason the class does not meet your expectation, you have the confidence of knowing that Outschool has a Happiness Guarantee and will provide a refund upon request via their Customer Support. 

Transfer requests within 24 hours of a scheduled class will NOT be approved.  At that point it is too late to reschedule the class, and it is unfair to other families who may have enrolled thinking there were multiple learners enrolled. Instead students will be encouraged to watch the video of the class. Additionally, only 1 transfer request will be granted.

This class is for students who struggle academically, or who possess minimal study skills. This is NOT a class for students who excel and are seeking a quick fix or short cut to additional success.
