In this ongoing group class, I will read a new story each week. As I read the book, I will stop and talk with students about the story, the vocabulary, and their opinions about the book. New vocabulary words will be discussed so students learning English can strengthen their comprehension and speaking skills! This class would be good for children ages 5 to 8 years old. Examples of the types of vocabulary words we will discuss are occupations (baker, nurse, lawyer), emotions (angry,...
- The goal of this class is for students to strengthen their English listening skills, speaking skills, and vocabulary by listening to stories and taking part in discussions.
-I have worked with children for over thirty years, and I have helped children practice reading as a daycare teacher, school volunteer, and parent. -I have a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Studies and took many education classes for this degree. Three of those classes were Early Childhood Education, Emergent Literacy, and Early Childhood Curriculum.
Students should be able to speak English, but want to strengthen their vocabulary and speaking skills.
