Upon request and prior to the start of the course, assessments can be conducted throughout the course to evaluate learner progress and understanding. These assessments may include quizzes, tests, projects, feedback and/or other forms of evaluation (i.e. letter grade). Parents and learners are encouraged to discuss their grading preferences with the teacher. The purpose of assessments and grades is to provide feedback on student learning and measure their achievement. In this SELF-PACED/ASYNCHRONOUS class, learners will explore and understand the engineering feats of ancient civilizations through a blend of historical study and hands-on building projects. From the pyramids of Egypt to Roman aqueducts and medieval castles, learners will learn about the design, construction, and significance of these historical structures. This course combines historical analysis with practical skills, providing a unique educational experience that fosters both creativity and historical appreciation. Learners will explore the engineering and architectural techniques of various ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians, Romans, and medieval Europeans. The course will also cover the historical context and significance of these engineering marvels. Historical Architecture Topics: Egyptian Pyramids Roman Aqueducts The Colosseum Medieval Castles Gothic Cathedrals The Great Wall of China Ancient Indian Temples Mayan Pyramids and Temples Incan Engineering and Machu Picchu The class is organized into weekly themes, each focusing on a specific civilization and its engineering achievements. Each week includes: A pre-recorded lecture on the historical and engineering aspects of the structures. A hands-on project where students will recreate a model of the discussed structure. The class will be delivered through a combination of pre-recorded lectures, interactive slides, and hands-on projects. Each session starts with a lecture supported by slides and video clips for visual context. This is followed by guided activities and instructions for hands-on projects, encouraging students to apply what they've learned. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, even in an asynchronous format. I provide detailed instructions and support materials to ensure students feel confident in their learning journey. I use a variety of teaching methods, including visual aids, and hands-on activities, to cater to different learning styles. After completing activities and assignments, learners will receive regular feedback from me before moving on to the next topic. I will be available for office hours and meetings throughout the course by appointment according to your time zone. Overall, this course is designed to be engaging, educational, and fun, providing students with a deep understanding of ancient engineering while developing their practical skills in a self-paced environment.

Additionally, I have conducted extensive research in both history and politics for over 20+ years, allowing me to stay informed and up-to-date with the latest developments in these fields.
