Do you have an animal fan, Earth lover, or Eco Warrior at home?
A budding Vet or Zoologist perhaps?
Does your learner love nature, animals, and looking after the environment?
or Does your learner just love hearing new and interesting stories?

In this class, each day, Mrs. T will read a fantastic book in her lovely, engaging British storytelling voice, by the super-talented author Ellie Jackson (a firm favorite for her own similar-aged children). 

Learners who have any of the books can follow along in their own copy, or if they don't have the book, they can listen to the true story about what happened to each animal, and be inspired to draw their own pictures. At the end of each class, learners can share their pictures and together we will look at ways we can all help save animals and help stop a similar environmental issue from happening. Learners are welcome to share ways they have helped (or thought about helping) the environment in the next day's class.

We will explore the following books in a week's camp:
Monday- The true story of Duffy the Turtle, which helps us look at the issue of single-use plastics, and what happens when they end up in our oceans. (Duffy's Lucky Escape!)

Tuesday- The true story of Buddy the Orangutan, which helps us look at the issue of rainforest deforestation and palm oil collection. (Buddy's Rainforest Rescue)

Wednesday- The true story of Nelson the Humpback Whale, which helps us look at the issue of ghost fishing nets in our oceans. (Nelson's Dangerous Dive)

Thursday- The true story of Marli the Puffin, which helps us look at the dangers of balloon releases and the importance of keeping our beaches clean. (Marli's Tangled Tale)

Friday- The true story of Sunny the Koala, which helps us look at the animal victims of bushfires and the importance of everyone doing their bit to protect our planet. (Sunny's Blazing Battle)

In order that all learners can fully enjoy the story each day, and to create a calm, inviting atmosphere learners will be asked to mute their mics after the class introductions/sharing, so everyone can enjoy the story and then learners will be invited to share their thoughts, pictures and ideas again at the end of class.

Animal stuffies are always welcome to join us for our story too............ as long as they behave themselves of course!
