Private lessons give the learner the ability to experience personalized one-on-one training, the most direct of any style of learning. John will work with the student and parent to determine what they want to accomplish with lessons, what skill level they are currently at and how to move forward from there. Beginners and experienced students are welcomed.

Topics covered each week will be learner-directed based on their current skill level and needs. We will work directly with the student to create a game plan that is most beneficial.

With ukulele, guitar and piano lessons some time will be focused on music theory (learning how to read music - notes and rhythm as well as key signatures and exercises). The student will be introduced to several different styles of music, but we would also learn songs that are of interest to the student as well. Whether their end goal is performance or hobby, a student can learn much from private lessons.

With acting, time will be spent on monologue and short scene performance as well as diction, character creation, expressing emotion, true reactions and delivery. Depending on the students interests (stage performance, film or commercial performance) lessons can be geared toward specific skills and growth.
