Other learners have already started but find Latin difficult and want to build confidence. A sample outline is below although lessons vary depending on the needs and pace of each child. We will learn how to pronounce Latin words correctly and build your vocabulary. You will also learn how to use first conjugation verbs (present and future tenses) and first declension nouns (nominative and accusative cases). You will also translate short passages from Latin to English and compose sentences in Latin. A sample outline is below although lessons vary depending on the needs and pace of each child: Lesson 1 Understanding the present tense in latin Vocabulary includes amō, amare Lesson 2 Understanding the present tense in latin Vocabulary includes clamō, festinō, navigō and laborō Lesson 3 Understanding the nominative and accusative cases in Latin Vocabulary includes puella and ursa Lesson 4 Understanding the nominative and accusative cases in Latin Vocabulary includes regina and agricola Lesson 5 Translating stories from Latin into English Vocabulary includes vacca and capra Lesson 6 Translating stories from Latin into English Vocabulary includes nauta and mensa Lesson 7 Learning the first declension Vocabulary includes castigō and aedificō Lesson 8 Learning the first declension Vocabulary includes lingua and gallīna Lesson 9 Translating stories from Latin into English Vocabulary includes ambulo and error etc.

I have been a schoolteacher for over twenty years and I have spent most of my career teaching in schools where high academic achievement is valued.
I originally trained in the United States but I received my bachelors degree and teacher qualifications in England and I work in London. I have studied Latin for over five years and my teaching experience means that I understand how to explain concepts in English and Latin grammar effectively.
I have studied Latin for five years and am passionate about its role in developing a child's intellect.
