Phonics - 開始閱讀 - 每週新技能 - 一年級和二年級

Every week, we will learn more about how sounds work together and how we can use phonics to help us read and write. I have seen the difference that phonics instruction makes in my own first grade classroom, and have had some students grow two grade levels in reading. We will be discussing various phonics topics. The only prior knowledge needed is for your child to know their letter names and sounds. The topics will not build on each other, but many of them do work together to create more successful readers. Phonics is my favorite thing to teach; I teach it in a way that allows students to make connections to the topic so they are able to learn it quickly and in a fun way. Below are the topics for the next few weeks:
Week of May 8 : Sneaky E (CCVE words)
Week of May 15: The H Brothers (th, wh, ch, sh)
Week of May 22: Rhyming Words
Week of May 29: Vowel Teams (ea, oa, oi, etc.)
Week of June 5: Two sounds for /ow/ (cow, bow)
