In this six week class, learners will be reading the book "Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 2: The Sea of Monsters." This is a self-paced class so there are no live classes. Learners will read the book when it is convenient for them. The learners will engage the class by answering questions that I post in the classroom. Once a week I will assign Blooket homework. Blooket is a fun trivia game that test the learner's comprehension. Each week the questions will be from the assigned reading...
6 lessons//6 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1Read chapters 1-4 during the week.Learners will read chapters 1-4 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 2Lesson 2Read chapters 5-8 during the week.Learners will read chapters 5-8 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 3Lesson 3Read chapters 9-12 during the week.Learners will read chapters 9-12 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 4Lesson 4Read chapters 13-16 during the week.Learners will read chapters 13-16 of the book. There will be a 10 question worksheet about the chapters. There will be a "Would You Rather" question for each chapter. Once the learner has read all the weekly chapters, they can test their knowledge with the weekly blooket trivia game.Week 6Lesson 6Watch "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" and compare to the bookLeaners will watch the film "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" then compare it to the book. There is a 10 question worksheet about the differences between the book and movie. Learners will post at least one difference they notice. The final blooket game will test if events came from the book or the movie.
The leaner will complete class having read "Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters." They will be able to compare the book to the movie. They will also be able to answer questions about the characters and their own personal quest.

The parents can decide if the material is suitable for their child.
