針氈俱樂部：星球大戰

Students will get six weekly needle felting lessons, a bonus choice video, an interactive Padlet, and a classroom to ask questions and share art. I will teach students the tools used while needle felting and how to get started on a felting project. We will use Star Wars characters as our inspiration for these lessons. I will cover how to set up and store needles, use needles safely, and sketch a template or use one when planning a felting project. 

At the beginning of each week, students will receive video lessons they can watch while they needle felt. This is a great resource because they can stop and rewind videos. The videos will be 30-60 minutes long, and I will make the items listed for each week. I will also provide some reference photos for ideas of other items that they could make. In each lesson, I will talk them through the techniques that I am using and how they can do them. 

Projects for the one video lesson each week:
Week 1: Baby Yoda: Grogu (Shaping wool and using and storing felting tools)
Week 2: Princess Leia  (Adding clothing and details to your piece)
Week 3: Jawa (Shaping heads and helmets)
Week 4: Ewok (Wrapping wool)
Week 5: BB8 (Keeping shapes from going flat)
Week 6: R2D2 Adding Limbs and shaping thicker and thinner pieces)
Week 7: Choose 1 bonus video: Han Solo, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, Porg, Chewbacca (You choose in the last week) 

Students will have access to a class Padlet where they can see images of and like the work of others. All posts need to be approved by me, so only appropriate posts will go up. The Padlet works like a giant bulletin board where students can see their peer's work and get more ideas about what to try on their own. I will also use Google slides to show reference images to look at.

I am skilled at differentiating content for many ages and learning needs in a kind and supportive style. I will have a camera on my hand while I felt, but will also be visible on the screen throughout the lesson. 

Learners will not need any prior experience, but they will need felting materials. 
-Various colors of wool felting wool (roving wool)
-3 or more barbed felting needles
-A foam pad (A partial chunk of pool noodle works great, about 6-8 inches long and cut in half so it sits flat on the table.) 
There are affordable kits available on Amazon if you are just getting started. There is also wool at Michaels, eBay, and Hobby Lobby.
-Pipe cleaners
- A piece of paper and a pencil. (I will show students how to create templates for different positions and designs.)
