This week long camp brings Broadway to your Home! Your dancer will dazzle the stage while we dance to a new musical each day and share our talents with each other! Each class will begin with a brief introduction to the day, where each student will get to share something with the rest of the class, such as what they know about the musical of the day! We will stretch, and warm up, then transition into practicing the dance moves that we will use in our dance. Finally, we will learn our Broadway Style Dance, and perform our routine! At the end of class, students will have the chance to share once more, as we each get to perform our favorite dance moves! 學習目標
Each class will introduce dancers to a different musical. Dancers will learn a variety of movement, technique and terminology related to Musical Theater Dance. Possible movements include, but are not limited to: plie, tondue, 5 positions of the feet, releve, port de bras, posse, pique, degage, grand battement, chaine, saute, eschappe, chasse, grapevine, pivot, kicks, heel toe walks, skips, hops, and leaps. We will practice balance, flexibility, and coordination skills. Most of all we will have FUN!

Please create a space that is open and large enough for your dancer to move, dance, jump and glide without bumping into things. Learners should wear comfortable clothing that they can easily move in. Since we are all Broadway Bound, fun, exciting, and stage worthy clothing is encourage, but not required. Learners should either wear ballet shoes or have bare feet. Please no socks, as dancers can easily slip while wearing them. Dancers may have a water bottle nearby, and take a sip when needed. Please help your learner know how to mute and unmute themselves. There could be times during the class when this skill is needed.

Miss Amy loves teaching students of all ages! She has had the privilege of teaching dancers as young as 2 and as old as 82. As a teacher, Amy's focus is to inspire young people to pursue their love of the arts by increasing youth education in dance and musical theater as a way to express oneself and build confidence. She teaches classes in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, creative movement, musical theater dance, and acting. Amy regularly holds Master Classes and Workshops in Audition Techniques, as well as summer camps where students can come to learn, love and grow as they experience dance, sometimes for the first time.
Miss Amy is a teaching artist, choreographer, director, and performer based out of North Texas. She received her Masters Degree from Texas Woman's University, and her Bachelors Degree from the University of North Texas, with an emphasis on Dance, Theater and Music. Amy has taught many places, including private dance studios, arts academies, charter schools and universities. She also is the owner and instructor of Crescendo School of Dance, as well as a freelance choreographer throughout the DFW area.
In her personal life, Miss Amy lives in Texas with her husband and brand new baby boy! She is excited to begin her journey into motherhood and can't wait to start dancing with her own little one!
