I find the subject of music theory fascinating. The piano is a great instrument for learning how music theory works due to the linear layout of the notes from left to right. I have taught many students how to understand music theory and I would like to share my discoveries with your learners. We will cover intervals, the mathematical relationships between notes. Students will learn music theory sufficient for an early high school level music theory class. Students will learn to build any chord from any note and any major scale from any note. They will acquire a complete vocabulary of chords that they will find in all styles of music. Students will learn how songs work and why the notes they play work together.
