What will be taught: Students will evaluate expressions and solve equations using the order of operations which will include parenthesis and exponents. Students will practice equations using order of operation with whole numbers. Students will practice problems of order of operation that include problems with decimals and fractions. Students will practice different operations and solve with/without parenthesis, or exponents in a specific order. Students learn how to group parenthesis, brackets, and braces and solve. Students will write simple expressions that record calculations with numbers, and interpret numerical expressions without evaluating. How will the lesson be taught: Whiteboard, doc cam, discussion, engagement, slides Students need some background knowledge of the basics of order of operation, and basic math.

Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for each week for the lessons or signing in for accounts.
