Students will learn how to form each capital letter accurately by demonstrating proper starting points, efficient stroke formation, consistent sizing, and writing line use. In addition, students will learn exercises and strategies to promote regulation, attention, and success during writing, as well as fine motor strength for writing endurance and mature handwriting grasp.

Prior to the start of the class, parents will receive a larger PDF file to print. These documents will serve as the learners' paper and students will work through these pages during our outschool class recorded lesson. Learners will be asked to submit a photo of their finished work (a letter they feel particularly proud of and 1-2 letters that they found to be challenging), as well as of their favorite movement activity from the lesson. In addition, a weekly homework assignment will be posted within the Outschool classroom (learners will be provided with two options). These assignments will be fun, multi-sensory activities or games to promote increased practice and comprehension of skills. Printing may be required depending on your preferred assignment selection. Learners will submit their work by the end of each week for peer and teacher feedback.

I will provide PDF worksheets prior to the start of our class and each week to serve as lesson summaries and homework. These worksheets should be printed if possible. Students will work on these worksheets together during our weekly Outschool classes. Youtube links will be posted in the outschool classroom to serve as our weekly lessons.
