Handwriting class for 6-10 year old children to work on letter formation and legibility. Classes focus on a developmental approach to learning prewriting and writing. Parents and children will be coached and guided on fun techniques and approaches to practice skills that will help with the complex task of writing. Fun and engaging approach for this age group is critical for practicing these important skills. Each session will be structured as follows: * Pre test to create a baseline from which to work from for each child * Children will start with warm ups that strengthen muscles in their arms and hands to get ready for writing * Recommendations for pens and pencils and age appropriate paper (Downloads will be made available) * Practice proper letter and number formation

Hello! I have been an occupational therapist for 23 years. I work with students from the ages of 3-22 years old in the public schools, and I specialize in foundational motor coordination skills development, sensory processing and self regulation development, executive functioning skills development, and mental health intervention for students who suffer from trauma. I am the Team Coordinator for two school systems, mentor recent graduates from OT school, and have experience as a clinical instructor for occupational therapy student Field Work rotations. I also am the creator and founder of The OT Corner with Mrs. K, providing tutoring, digital downloads and educational services to children and their families. I also created The OT Corner with Mrs. K Podcast. I have a passion for teaching people of all ages.
On a more personal note, I am a big fan of theater, and I love to perform in local theater in my free time.
