In Global Passport: Dive into Cultures, Customs, and Current Events, students will explore a variety of countries, diving into their traditions, history, and the role current events play in shaping them. Each session will focus on a specific country, covering topics such as food, holidays, traditional clothing, music, geography, and historical events, while discussing recent global news to help students understand how current events affect different cultures today. The class is structured with a combination of slides, storytelling, video clips, and interactive activities. I want to emphasize that all discussions will focus on exploring cultures from an unbiased standpoint, and no personal or private information about individual students' cultures will be discussed. This approach ensures a respectful and inclusive environment where students can learn about the diversity of our world without feeling pressured to share personal experiences. Topics will include: Japan: Festivals, pop culture, and traditions like tea ceremonies Brazil: Carnival, samba, and the Amazon Rainforest Egypt: Ancient wonders, modern cities, and the Nile’s importance India: Festivals like Diwali, cuisine, and the diversity of languages Italy: Art, food, and history from Rome to Venice South Africa: Nelson Mandela’s legacy, wildlife, and local traditions Australia: Aboriginal culture, the Great Barrier Reef, and environmental challenges Through these sessions, students will not only learn facts but also build empathy, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Critical Thinking: Students will analyze how current events impact different cultures, discussing the interconnections between global issues and cultural practices.
Communication Skills: Students will engage in respectful discussions, sharing their thoughts and insights about different cultures and current events, enhancing their ability to express ideas clearly and listen actively to others.
