This is a 1 day class exploring positive and negative space. First, I will be introducing how artist use positive and negative space and we will do a brief activity identifying positive and negative space in our environment and in famous works of art. Next, we will cut and glue a positive and negative space collage. We will finish by sharing our finish product with the other students ( this part is not mandatory). Vocabulary- Elements of art, collage, symmetry, spatial, space, positive and negative space. No prior experience needed. Students will define and identify positive and negative space and symmetry. The students will create their own theme for their collage. Student will make a collage using positive and negative space.
