In this 6-week course, students will learn the basics of character design from the ground up- no experience required! Good character design is based on anatomy, stylization, exaggeration, silhouette, and color palette. We will be studying all of these elements throughout our 6 weeks together! I have been teaching for the last 4 years, as well as freelancing as a professional artist! I bring a current and modern take on working in the illustration, animation, and character design industry.
Students are only required to have something to draw with! Pencil and paper is perfectly fine, as well as any drawing tablet and digital drawing software such as Procreate, Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, etc.
There will be no scary or violent imagery in this class. I will be hand selecting the images we use as reference so that all content is age appropriate. All models and references will be fully clothed at all times.
