In this 16-session course on the Amazon Rainforest, students will ultimately gain knowledge of deforestation, depletion of resources, and consider conservation of the Rainforest. Students will begin by learning where and what classifies a rainforest, then read a book (The Great Kapok Tree) as an introduction to the course. They will then take a journey deep into the riches this special landscape has to offer by learning about the weather, climate, insects, animals, and resources held...

There is no parental guidance or outside website accounts necessary for this course. A google account is encouraged to help make using Google material more accessible. Students should have basic knowledge of Zoom, using a browser, and Google but it is not necessary as the teacher will be available for help.
It is suggested that students purchase The Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry for this class. At this time, it seems to be between $6 and $14. Digital copies are ok as well. The book is readily available in bookstores and on the internet.
