In this one-on-one session, you and your family will have the chance to meet with me to discuss your background, learning goals, and ideal pathway to advanced writing competence.

We can spend the session in whichever way you like. We can…
+ look at some instructor-created teaching materials together
+ do a quick sample activity
+ discuss any special needs or concerns
+ answer any questions

I’d love to hear a little bit about you as a learner. What kinds of writing classes and writing experiences have you had before? What writing strategies do you think work well for you? What are your learning goals?

I’d also love to share my qualifications as an instructor. I have a PhD from the University of Wisconsin—Madison, I have over 25 years of experience teaching in a variety of settings, I was a professor for 18 years, and I have won several teaching awards. I am a big fan of everything having to do words (reading, writing, the whole bit!), and I would be honored to be your writing instructor.
