Students will be guided through the provided text to improve their close reading skills. I will show them first how they use their reasoning to pull details from the text. Then they will do the work step by step, with me closing guiding. Day two the lesson is reviewed and the students refine their skills.

The students will strengthen their close reading skills, learning how to read and re-read to pull the needed details from each text they read. This skill is a bedrock for their education and state testing process. They will also gain the skills needed for essay writing.
