We'll look at visual examples to illustrate all key principles. This class will be very interactive as I ask students to examine a specific castle and identify new features or what the structure tells us. Students will learn how the design and elements of European castles varied by culture and how they evolved over time. Students will learn how to recognize by sight what type of castle they're looking at, the age of the castle, and where it's located. We'll look at what life was like for...
Students will be able to explain how the structure and elements of castles evolved over time. Students will be able to identify the age and location of a castle by its' appearance. Students will gain an understanding of what life in a castle was like and what castle warfare was like.
I've previously been a guest presenter for Middle School GT programs on this subject.
One of the topics we'll cover will be castle warfare. That may be triggering for some individuals although there will be no graphic visuals or detailed descriptions of fighting.
