This is a combination of three of my favorite classes all rolled into one. If you have taken these classes before, no worries! Same fun...all new challenges! Come join us for three days of exciting learning! Day 1: Mental Math Mania: A fast paced flurry of math challenges - no paper/pencil required! Day. 2: Break the Code: A Verbal Enrichment Activity - a highly interactive critical thinking game that will require teamwork, active listening, fine tuned powers of observation, flexible thinking, and an ability to think just a little bit differently! Oh...and be ready to laugh...because it's just bound to happen! Day 3: Escape Room - Solve a series of puzzles codes in order to unlock scientific mystery!
學習目標
Day 1: Mental Math Mania - The goal of this session is to provide a fun space where students can develop their math reasoning, build vocabulary, deepen their understanding of numbers, and strengthen their mathematical thinking skills through play, puzzle solving, and interaction with others.
Day 2: Break the Code - The goal of this session is to help learners develop inductive reasoning skills through interactive play. A variety of core curricular concepts may be woven into the experience, but the primary emphasis will be on developing the thinking skills needed to analyze the content rather than on the content itself. All of this will take place in a game format that is fun, engaging, and non-threatening to even the most hesitant learner. Deep learning...genuine fun!
Day 3: Escape Room - The goal of this session is to guide learners to new understandings about the world around them as they use clues to work their way through a series of puzzles and brainteasers.其他詳情

As a former fifth grade Math/Science teacher and FIRST LEGO League Robotics coach, I have spent countless hours helping elementary school aged children discover the wonder of learning through play. My work as a Gifted and Talented Specialist also taught me the importance of inspiring children to look beyond the obvious to the abstract and helped me to see the joy that comes from viewing every child through the lens of his or her strengths. I have a degree in Biology and have also spent several years working with gifted and talented students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. This gives me a unique perspective as I work alongside my learners, gently guiding their thinking and helping them to discover exciting new truths about the world around them.評論
