課堂經歷
This is an English Reading Book Club for students who are developing their love of reading, writing, thinking and sharing their ideas. This class is aimed at beginner readers to broaden their vocabulary, improve recognition of words, develop phonics and handwriting too. Learners will develop their reading fluency, comprehension skills including knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, guessing meaning of words from context, sharing ideas and developing communication skills. Which books will be covered? Week Beginning 19/8/2024 - Planets Week Beginning 26/8/2024 - Deadly Predators Week Beginning 2/9/2024 - Ugly Animals Week Beginning 9/9/2024 - Weird Sea Creatures Week Beginning 16/9/2024 - Barack Obama Week Beginning 23/9/2024 - Abraham Lincoln Week Beginning 19/8/24 - Sharks Week Beginning 26/8/24 - Dolphins Week Beginning 2/9/24 - Rocks and Minerals Week Beginning 9/9/24 - Rosa Parks Week Beginning 16/9/24 - Snakes Week Beginning 23/9/24 - Bats Week Beginning 30/9/24 - Thomas Edison Week Beginning 7/10/24 - George Washington Week Beginning 14/10/24 - Mummies Week Beginning 21/10/24 - Pandas Week Beginning 28/10/24 - Lizards Week Beginning 4/11/24 - Monkeys Week Beginning 11/11/24 - Wolves Week Beginning 18/11/24 - Bees Week Beginning 25/11/24 - Cheetahs Further classes will be added. Each week will include vocabulary, comprehension and input. Learners will be encouraged to share their ideas in a variety of ways in class. Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.

The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text. Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class.
