讀書俱樂部 - 艾倫·格拉茨的《盟友》 - 第二次世界大戰劇情片！

If your learner is looking for an action-packed historical fiction read, then this 4 week book club might be for them! Join four characters as their destinies converge in this incredible novel by Alan Gratz. 

The setting is D-Day, June 6th, 1944 during WWII. Dee is a young soldier heading toward France in his landing boat. Samira is a French girl working as a spy. James is a paratrooper getting ready to descend into enemy territory, and Henry is a medic who is steeling himself to treat wounded soldiers. 

It goes without saying that we will be addressing this vital period in WWII history. Broken down, our lessons will be the following:

Week 1 - please read pages 3-72. We will be discussing the background of D-day, what its purpose was, as well as introducing our characters to the reader.

Week 2 - please read pages 73-146. - The airborne drop will be discussed.

Week 3 - please read pages 147-227. - The amphibious landings take place!

Week 4 - please read pages 228 - end. 

Students will be responsible for reading 80 or so pages every week, about 12 pages per night. Other than that, I do not give homework but CAN supply parents with some writing prompts if they wish. 

The instructor will be dressed in a different WWII uniform for every class!
