Students will learn about the mythological figure Baba Yaga. I will tell stories from Slavic folklore featuring Baba Yaga. We will focus on the light-hearted adventures of Baba Yaga, and students will discover where she lives, how she travels, who her associates are, and more. I will start the class by asking students whether or not they have ever heard of Baba Yaga. Students will be given an opportunity to share what they already know about Baba Yaga. Students will learn about the Slavic folklore character Baba Yaga.
I have taken several online courses about folklore and mythology. I also have an extensive collection of folklore storybooks and folklore theory books. I have taught and currently teach folklore, mythology, literature, poetry, and history classes.
