課堂經歷
The classic, "The Christmas Carol" is an encouraging tale of the journey of a miserable human to a loving and giving person. In this book study, the students will learn all things "Scrooge" and his exciting encounters with three ghosts that change him for good! In this six-week course, students will be taught vocabulary words and literary techniques to understand, and discuss the classic, "The Christmas Carol." Each class will begin with a short instructional lesson regarding specific literary topics. Most of the class time will be used to discuss the story's plot, characters, and themes. Students are encouraged to listen open-mindedly and kindly to their fellow students and share their own opinions. Lastly, we will end the class with the reading of several unfamiliar vocabulary words, and the next week's assignment. Lastly, I will provide a study guide to assist your child with the literary components for each stave. Please, note: Charles Dickens utilized a play on words. He used "carol" in the title which means "Christmas song" and the word he used instead of "chapters" was "stave" -which means both the musical five-parallel lined staff and a verse or stanza in a poem. Hey, Thank you for dropping by! I am Teacher Rachel from Sunny Florida, USA!
I have a BA in Education from Baptist College of Florida and half-way through my Master's degree. I love learning and sharing what inspires me. Thus- Teaching!!!!
I have been teaching for the last two decades. First, I have taught internationally for six years at a University in China. Ni Hao!!! There I taught American Culture, American and World History, and American and British Literature. Then, I taught history to Junior High students. We embarked on hands-on activities and engaged in multi-media lessons, while thinking critically about historic characters and events. Lastly, since being married and having a son, I have delved into the home-school way of life, teaching at co-ops, and via on-line classes. Learning should be fun, engaging and applicable. If your child is bored, I am not teaching it right because we will be walking along side some VERY interesting characters. My first set of courses will be on the children/tweens who have changed the world. I cannot wait to see you there!!
