五年級課程複習（Flex）

In this flexible schedule course, we will review common subjects learned in 5th grade! We will practice a different 5th grade topic each week such as long division, prefixes & suffixes, and graphing points on the coordinate plane. Each learner should bring paper and writing utensil before watching each lesson. This class is great as a supplement to virtual schooling or public schooling as well as homeschooling, and is a great fit for learners who will be starting 5th grade in the fall, who are currently in 5th grade, or any student who would like to review 5th grade concepts. Each week I will post a video explaining the concepts below, then I will post discussion questions, challenge activities, or ask students to share examples of their work weekly in the classroom. Here is a rough outline of each class:

Week 1: Video teaching long division. We will have a self introduction discussion in the classroom, and I will post an interactive long division game to the classroom where students hone their skills using long division.

Week 2: Video teaching prefixes and suffixes. I will post a challenge for the students to collaborate together to solve. Students can work together to tackle this game!

Week 3: Video teaching graphing points on the coordinate plane. I will post a game called Space Graph Junior where students will locate points on a coordinate graph, and we will discuss which strategies are the most helpful!

Week 4: Video teaching how to find main ideas and supporting details in a text. Students will post photos of their work to the classroom, and students and will discuss what we liked about this week's lesson. I will also post a Kahoot game for students to review key terms in identifying main ideas and details.

Week 5: Video teaching how to measure volumes by counting unit cubes, cubic centimeters, cubic inches, cubic feet and improvised units. I will post an interactive quiz game for the students to practice what they learned and compete against each other with a bit of friendly competition, and we will discuss which strategies are the most helpful.

Week 6: Video teaching how to use research to write an informational report. Students will post their work, and we will all discuss and critique the students' writing.

Week 7: Video teaching how to read, write and compare decimals to thousandths. Students will practice with a worksheet after the lesson, and I will post a Time to Climb quiz game about decimals. Time to Climb is Nearpod's “game-like” learning activity that increases engagement with friendly classroom competition while assessing students' knowledge.

Week 8: Video teaching students to interpret information from charts, images, videos, timelines and diagrams. I will also post a game which gives students the opportunity to practice interpreting charts. A variety of question formats are presented to students in this educational, fun game.
