1984 年-讀書俱樂部！

As students read 1984 by George Orwell they will learn the characters, plot, and hidden themes of the book as well as an in-depth analysis of the plot and the parallels to Joseph Stalin's Soviet Russia. Students will master this commonly required curriculum through discussions, character charts,  and questions. We will also be playing some learning games as we study this classic novel. 

 I love George Orwell!

Week 1- I will have short lecture presentation over the background of the Russian Revolution and the author's background. We will read some of the first chapter together.
-Finish reading chapters 1-11 for next week.  

Week 2: A study of George Orwell and his influences. Photo study of the major characters involved in the book. This will include a character chart and a discussion over the main characters, secondary characters, and unseen characters. 
-Read chapter 11-17 for next week.  

Week 3: Discuss the importance of the characters and the theme up to this point. End with Games!
-Read chapters 18-23 for next week

Week 4:  Finish character chart. Discuss the realities of totalitarianism. Comparisons to Brave New World. Play Kahoot for 1984

Learners will be expected to read sections of the book independently.  A minimum of an eighth grade reading level is helpful.
