During this engaging 1:1 stand-alone class that connects reading and writing, students will read a high-interest non-fiction text and practice answering a main idea writing prompt. We will begin by choosing an article from a list of personalized, high-interest topics for your learner. We then pre-read the prompt to clarify the purpose of reading. While most articles are appropriate for the suggested age level (both are reputable educational websites), the host understands that some topics may be considered sensitive for some. Therefore, thought will be given to the appropriateness of the chosen passage for the age level of the learner. Other passages may be suggested during the session if needed.
