As learners near the end of their high school careers and prepare for college, essays become more and more a part of their academics and tests. Many learners struggle with how to write essays successfully. In this class learners will learn the basics of essay writing and practice answering writing essay question answers in class with a time limit, just like they will in a real exam.

Each class will begin by covering a topic related to essay writing. Then learners will be given an essay question which they will write in class and must turn in to the teacher at the end of the class for feedback and grading. Before the end of class they will be given the general topic for the next week's essay and should prepare a one page typed document of notes which is the only thing they are allowed to use while writing their essay the following week and they must turn it in to the teacher before class.
