Students are taught and expected to know English grammar in school at the same time as others. Every child is on a different learning level, style, and speed. Students can feel pressured when they are unable to keep up with those around them in a school setting. This can affect a student's mental and emotional well-being.

Excel in English is designed to help students to grow from where they are. Some are at the seed level and need some extra foundation to begin to sprout. Some students are peaking just above the surface and need a little extra rain to feed them. Other students are blooming, yet in need of some sunlight to help them shine. Regardless of your student's growth-learning level, private class sessions can provide them with the individualized attention needed to help them academically, emotionally, and mentally.

Grammar:
Parts of Speech, Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, Regular Plural Nouns, Irregular Plural Nouns, Subject-Verb Agreement, Coordinating Conjunctions, Subordinating Conjunctions, Capitalization, Punctuations, Commas, Quotations, Perfect Verb Tenses, Prepositions, Prepositional Phrases, Interjections, Complex Sentences
 
Writing:
Sentence Structure, Word Choice, Prewriting, Essay Writing, Paragraph Writing, Opinion Writing, Descriptive Writing, Argumentative Writing, The Writing Process
 
Reading:

*Once enrolled, please be sure to complete the brief questionnaire prior to class to learn more about your student's needs.
You may also include on the form his/her strengths, personality type and anything you would like for me to be aware of. The link to the questionnaire will be located in the main classroom after enrollment.

During the first session, students will be given an assessment administered by the teacher. Parents are encouraged to inform the teacher of any areas of struggle or where the student prefers to touch up his or her skills on. A student could have a passion for a particular area and be in need of encouragement and reassurance. Regardless of the reason, private tutoring helps with academic skills and gives the students the confidence needed to accomplish his or her goal. 

A detailed learning plan will be created for each returning student for the teacher's use. The teacher will adjust the teaching style based on each child's learning styles and personalities. Powerpoints, e-books video clips, audio clips, images, online quizzes, and interactive games will be used to teach students as needed.

If you prefer to secure multiple time slots, please send a message to include your exact dates and times desired. Also, if you do not see a timeslot that works for you, feel free to request a specific time and date as well. Please use est time when requesting a time.

**Please note: There is an 8 minute grace period that I allow students to enter the class. After 8 minutes of the scheduled start time, the class will end. No refunds, credits, or future transfers will be allowed due to the reserved time slot. Thank you for understanding.
