In this ongoing course, students will build foundational workout technique and skills through appropriate emphasis on form, movement patterns, and overall understanding of exercise. As a former weightlifting instructor and current high school science teacher, health teacher and football coach, I see the importance of exercise and fitness knowledge every day. I developed this class to help guide students through a challenging type of exercise that is often mishandled and misunderstood....

Hi learners and parents! I currently am a credentialed teacher in Washington State and hold my endorsements in biology, health and fitness. I am a current high school football coach and AP biology, anatomy and physiology. and health science teacher. Last year, I taught P.E., weightlifting, health, environmental science, biology and physics to middle and high school students. I am a former Orangetheory Fitness Coach and certified athletic trainer I am a former college football player who was named to the Whitworth University All Decade 1st Team, 3x all conference player, and 3x academic all west region. I hold my Master's in Secondary Education with an emphasis in fitness, life sciences and health. I received my B.S. in Athletic Training from Whitworth University. I completed 1,250 clinical hours in physical therapy clinics, collegiate, semi-professional and high school athletic training rooms, emergency rooms and urgent cares.
Please bring 3 weights with you to each class: 1. Heavy weight (12-15 pounds) 2. Medium weight (8-10 pounds) 3. Light weight (2-5 pounds) If a student does not have dumbbells or weights, they can use the following: Gallon of water, backpack with 1-2 textbooks inside, large can of soup, etc.
Parents should supervise their child to ensure that they are in a safe area and are performing the activities/movements within the workout correctly.
