Students will... 1. Students will improve their understanding of prepositional, appositive, gerund, and infinitive phrases 2. Students will write phrases with correct punctuation. 3. Students will use phrases to incorporate variety into their writing. 4. Improve their understanding of simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences. 5. Identify the differences between dependent vs. independent clauses. 6. Identify the difference between clauses and phrases. 7. Write simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences with correct punctuation. 8. Use different sentence structures to incorporate variety into their writing. 9. Identify and demonstrate the basic components of an essay. 10. Effectively write and revise a multi-paragraph essay.
I have a B.S. in English Education and English Literature with over ten years of classroom teaching experience.
