주당 1시간. Time will be given in each class to work on the actual writing of essays. However, students may not be able to complete the writing for the day in the class and will need to take time outside of class to finish the essay writing. This should not take more than 30 minutes outside of class if they need to work outside of class.채점

SUMMARY OF THE CLASS In this ongoing course, students will be writing a number of different essays in several different styles including narrative, informational, persuasive, reading response, compare and contrast, how to, and more Essay writing is so important for students to master in middle school because essay writing is going to be a major part of their education from here on out. However, so many students struggle with essay writing, and as a parent not only do you not want to see your child struggle, but you also may not feel equipped to teach them yourself because you never learned the structure or English is not your first language. In this class, students will see examples of these types of essays, learn the structure, and be able to practice and get feedback on their essays. Each month in this class the material will build so we will be writing an essay over the course of the month. If students join in the middle of a month they will have missed some parts of the essay that we are on, but they can jump in and catch up easily. Below is a list of the essays that we will be doing in this class till the end of the year CLASS BREAKDOWN 🍧 August: Opinion Essay: What is the best summer treat? 🍧 Week of August 4th: Prewriting: Brainstorming and reading articles Week of August 11th: Introductions Week of August 18th: Body Paragraphs Week of August 25th: Conclusions 🍁September: Reading Response Essay🍁 Week of September 1st: Prewriting: Brainstorming and reading articles Week of September 8th: Introductions Week of September 15th: Body Paragraphs Week of September 22nd: Conclusions 🎃 October: Spooky Stories: Narrative Essays 🎃 Week of September 29th: Prewriting What are spooky stories Week of October 6th: Exposition: Describing Characters and Setting Week of October 13th: Rising action and climax Week of October 20th: The art of a cliffhanger 🦃 November: How to Essay: Favorite Thanksgiving Dish 🦃 Week of October 27th: Prewriting: What is a how to Essay Week of November 3rd: Introductions and materials Week of November 10th: Steps to a recipe Week of November 17th: Conclusions to a how to essay Week of November 24th: Thanksgiving break no classes. Week of December 22nd: Christmas break we will return the week of January 5th ABOUT ME AND MY STYLE I have been teaching essay writing for over ten years and I love to expand students writing by asking them questions about their writing to get them to expand their ideas. I also believe that students need to have a structure to write from to really master the art of essay writing. I also have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students. I have experience with blind students, autistic students, students with ADHD, etc. If your student needs any accommodations to make this class more accessible for them please feel free to reach out and I will make these accommodations to the best of my ability.

Each month in this class we will be going over different subjects that could cover a number of items. This fall we will be writing scary stories in October as well as writing about many different holidays in November and December. Check the list above in the description for the topics that we will be going over in any given month. Students will need to be able to have a place to write their essays. This could be on Word, Google Docs, or even with a paper but they have to be able to send them to me so I can give them feedback.

Hello, I’m Angela AKA The Truthful Tutor. I have been a tutor for the last 12 years.
I love my job and love working with all the students that I have come across. My passion in life is making sure that students have the tools that they need to succeed and learn everything they can.
Since being a tutor, I have learned many tips and tricks and want to make sure that those tools can get into the hands of students through tutoring, so they can tap into their potential.
The most important thing that I have learned is that success begins early. The earlier that students are given the tools they need to succeed the better that they will do.
I have lots of experience with students with a number of different abilities and neurodiverse students.
