WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT? The 12-week self-awareness and meditation class for teens covers a range of topics designed to promote self-awareness, mindfulness, and personal growth. These topics include an introduction to meditation and self-awareness, mindfulness and the present moment, cultivating gratitude, understanding emotions, mindful communication, cultivating self-compassion, mindful movement, self-reflection, cultivating positive relationships, mindful eating, cultivating mindful habits,...
Students will learn ways to observe their thoughts with compassion and non-judgement, manage stress, and solve problems utilizing a journal for self reflection prompts along with meditation techniques to create their own personal go-to toolbox for days that feel overwhelming.
I have been teaching all ages in studios and classrooms for the last 14 years. Beyond my training I am passionate about giving students of any age a fun-inclusive learning experience that stems for my passion of movement and wellness practices. Everyone has a voice in my class, everyone is will be listened to in my class, and everyone will support each other in my class. I have a saying, "We're all on the same boat, someone falls off we're all swimming. Let's keep each other on board!" :)
A journal or lose leaf paper for class will do. If a student would like to use an electronic device for journal prompt(s) I ask that it not become a distraction during class, otherwise I will email parents that it has become a distraction.

Hi Parents! This class is a great opportunity to create conversation and build trust with your child. I strongly encourage you to check-in with your student and see how their daily reflection and meditation tools are helping them or to share their experiences. I also invite you to encourage them to teach you some of the tools they learn in class. This empowers your students confidence of using their voice and strengthens your trust in your relationship. Don't be discouraged if they don't want to the first couple of times you ask! You showing interest is also a expressing to your student that you care for and admire the inner work they are doing for themselves.
