In this 6-week course, we will read, analyze, and respond to "Restart" by Gordon Korman. Parents will need to get their students a copy of the novel (format doesn't matter). I highly encourage listening to the audiobook while reading. We will be using Nearpod, Google Drive (Docs and Slides), and Canva. This course is best suited for middle schoolers. Students will receive rubric-based grades.
Both the e-book and audiobook are available on Hoopla (for free!).
***Before Week 1 homework:...Students will learn to engage and respond to literature more deeply.

"Restart" synopsis: Chase wakes up in a hospital bed with amnesia, having fallen from the roof of his house. He cannot remember anything about his life. When he returns to school, Chase realizes that many of his classmates fear or dislike him. He makes different choices, hanging out with the video club instead of the football team. Chase commits to becoming a better person, especially when he learns about a crime he committed just before his amnesia took hold.
We will reference "Restart" by Gordon Korman throughout the course.
