Thank you for your interest in math tutoring! This is a great step toward supporting your child's math skills and helping them become confident in math. I am so happy you are here. :) Each meeting, your learner will be met with a patient, kind, warm and seasoned math teacher. Once you have scheduled a tutoring time, please answer the following questions to help me best prepare for your child's tutoring time: 1. What grade level is your child currently in? 2. What skills are they working on in school right now? 3. Has your child's teacher given you specific feedback on areas for needed focus? 4. Do you have a specific skill that you would like me to work on with your learner, or would you like tutoring to be focused on supporting what your child is learning in school? 5. Is there anything else about your child that you would like me to know to help me get to know them? In my years of teaching experience, I have found that students are all unique, and each class is unique. My goal is to make learning fun and engaging. I adapt the tutoring session to the needs of your child so that they can feel confident and are successful in math tutoring. EXAMPLES TOPICS: Adding & Subtracting Fractions, Multi-Digit Multiplication and Long Division, Multi-Digit Addition and Subtraction with regrouping, Beginning Addition and Subtraction fluency, Multiplication Fact Fluency, Division Fact Fluency, Multiplying and Dividing Fractions, Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Decimals, Integers, Expressions, Equations, Statistics, Probability, Geometry. These are just a sample of topics! :) I am experienced in teaching 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7th grade math and I am open to tutoring any of these grade levels!

Learners may use a personal dry erase board or paper and pencil each day for our class meetings. A math notebook to take notes and write examples is also helpful to some students.

Hello families!
My name is Jennifer Boham and I have been teaching math for 15 years. I hold a Florida Teaching License with certifications in Elementary Education and Middle School Math.
I love helping students overcome learning blocks like frustration, self-doubt, and of course boredom. My goal is to make sure your child feels supported in class and confident in their academic ability. I achieve this through patience, kindness, positive encouragement and lots of FUN.
When I was a young student, I actually struggled with math! This gives me a unique perspective and helps me reach students who are feeling frustrated. I overcame that frustration because I realized that my mindset was the only thing in the way. I realized that math could actually be fun! I never would have believed that before! Here I am, many years later, starting my 16th year of teaching math - another plot twist! I look forward to helping your learner find joy in learning math this school year and gain the confidence that will propel them forward, helping them reach their dreams.
My family and I live in Florida with our dogs Pepper and Dexter and our cat Junebug. I enjoy traveling, gardening, biking, relaxing at the beach and going to Disney!
