수업 소개
There are NO live meetings for this class. This 4 week self-paced class includes 11 videos with dance instruction for the basic techniques and basic beginner steps for Irish Dance. Interactive characters make it a fun learning experience for young children, narrated by Sparky the Irish Unicorn. Instructor, Peggy Cannon, wears color coded clothing to make it easy to follow and learn. In addition to dance instruction the lessons include a fun warm up, challenges, activities, fun facts about Ireland, learn to spell dance words, easy Irish craft ideas and a certificate of completion for each lesson. Learners are encouraged to interact with the instructor and classmates weekly by posting videos of their dances, photos of any crafts they create, stories they write using the dance spelling words they are taught, etc. Each week learners will be given a challenge to reinforce what they learned during the videos of the week. Learners are encouraged to share the completion of their challenge in the class room.

The Basics of Irish Dance
Learners will learn the basic techniques of Irish Dance. They will progress to count and understand Irish Dance Music. The week will finish with learning one of the fundamental Irish Dance moves, the Sideways Step. 23 분의 동영상 강의

Dancing the Irish Skip, the Figure 8 and Jumping Over the Log move
Learners will take the basics from week 1 to learn more Irish Dance Steps. Over the Log is a move that will get them jumping and having fun. The skip will teach them a very important move in Irish Dance and they will learn to incorporate the moves into a Figure 8. 27 분의 동영상 강의

Dance the Jig!
The Jig is the most traditional of all the Irish Dances. The Jig will be broken into segments. Learners will first learn the Jig Beginning which is a basic element in all Jigs. Next they will learn the Jig Ending which is a part of all Jig steps. The week will finish with putting it all together and dancing a complete Irish Jig. 28 분의 동영상 강의

Learners should wear comfortable clothing suitable for easy movement and flexible shoes which provide traction and also allow them to stand on their toes. No jeans please. Dancers are encouraged to have a water bottle on hand to stay hydrated during class. A large space is not necessary for class however the area should be free from any items on the floor or furniture which may be an obstacle. Class will begin with some warm up stretches to get the dancers ready for movement.
