In this FLEX class students will have the opportunity to learn how to listen for, read, and spell some of their letters and sounds. I will post a short video introducing each skill Monday-Thursday, and on Friday students will create a Flipgrid and teach the skills that they learned back to me. Each day after your child watches my mini lesson they will be provided with a hands on phonics worksheet or activity that lines up with the skill that was taught that day. Each week students will learn a new phonic skill. They will learn how to listen to, read, and write each skill and apply it in their everyday reading and writing.

We will use Flipgrid in this FLEX class. Flipgrid is a website and app that allows teachers to facilitate video discussions. Students are organized into groups and then given access to discussion topics. When we use Flipgrid I will post a code in the classroom. Once you click on the link it will take you to Flipgrid where your child can create and add cool effects to their video. We may use scissors in an assignment. Please review scissor safety with your child before starting the activity.
