📣 Please note: This class is 100% in Spanish, perfect for kids with exposure to the language at home or kids that would like to try full immersion. 

🌟This online camp is designed for children in Ages 8-12 with an intermediate level of Spanish. Over five exciting days, your child will be immersed in the rich culture and vibrant life of Colombia.

🌟What will be taught?

Our camp will focus on Colombian heritage, wildlife, music, cuisine, and festivals. Each day, we will introduce a new cultural fact, an animal of the day, music genre, vocabulary word, reading, and an exploration of amazing places in Colombia. We'll also engage in creative crafts and interactive games to reinforce learning in a fun and memorable way.

🌎Cultural Facts: From Colombian history to indigenous tribes and festivals.
🌎Animals: Unique wildlife 
🌎Music: Traditional and contemporary genres 
🌎Cuisine: Exploring traditional dishes and ingredients.
🌎Geography: Tours of Bogotá, the Amazon Rainforest, coffee plantations, and more.

Our camp is structured to provide a balanced mix of learning and fun. Each day includes:

🌟Lectures: Brief, engaging presentations to introduce daily topics.
🌟Games: Interactive quizzes, animal bingo, cooking challenges, and dance-offs.
🌟Slides & Video Clips: Visual aids and virtual tours to enhance understanding.
🌟Discussions: Safe, moderated discussions to practice Spanish and share thoughts.
🌟Crafts: Hands-on activities such as making Colombian flags and more.
🌟Reading: Age-appropriate stories and legends that highlight Colombian culture.

Each session is designed to be 30 minutes long, providing a perfect balance of structured learning and free exploration. We use a mix of body language, visual aids, and interactive prompts to engage your child and encourage active participation.

Welcome to a happy place! Our teaching style is dynamic and easy to follow. Our aim is to provide ALL students ample opportunity to speak and repeat Spanish terms. The class will be visually appealing and engaging. Our goal is to CONNECT with your child and build up his or her confidence.

🌟How will the class be taught?
The class will be taught using body language to illustrate vocabulary. We like to model the language for children and make slight corrections using positive reinforcements. Your child will be presented the opportunity to join the conversation through various prompts. Learners will practice their language skills with other learners and engage in Community learning. 

🌟Our Teaching Philosophy:
We use the Comprehensible Input approach to teach this Spanish Immersion class. Comprehensible input is language input that can be understood by listeners despite them not understanding all the words and structures in it. According to Krashen's theory of language acquisition, giving learners this kind of input helps them acquire language naturally, rather than learn it consciously.
